Deep Root Fertilization

Adding a proper fertilizer improves the appearance and condition of trees and, in some cases, enables trees to withstand insects and diseases better. Healthy, mature trees add an average of 10 percent to the value of your property and can save 20-50% in energy used for heating while providing a natural habitat for wildlife. A healthy 30" diameter breast height (DBH) tree removes 70 times more air pollution annually than a 3" DBH tree. Fertilizing promotes tree growth. Affordable Tree Care provides Annual Deep Root Fertilization with Davey Arbor Green® PRO. You will be amazed at the results. Call today for an estimate.

Benefits of Healthy Trees

Healthy, mature trees add up to 15% to the value of your property. Healthy, mature, well-placed trees reduce air conditioning and heating costs by 20% - 50%. Healthy, mature trees naturally absorb carbon dioxide and reduce pollution. Unhealthy trees can become a hazard and cost money to be removed.

Forest trees thrive without fertilizer because forest soils are rich in humus, replenished by the decay of leaves and other organic matter. In contrast, urban forest trees live in soils low in humus and fertility. Leaves and other debris are typically removed, interrupting nature's recycling program. The soil nutrients used in plant growth must be replenished with supplemental fertilization.

Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control

Round 1: This Early Spring application helps to prevent the establishment of crabgrass in turf. We will perform the application before crabgrass germination.

Round 2: Broadleaf weeds pop up in the Spring. We actively treat broad leaves with herbicides, including a sticking agent, to improve effectiveness and rain-fastness. Proper fertilization will boost grass growth and help it to thicken for a healthier lawn while choking the unwanted weeds out.

Round 3: Proper fertilization is necessary for optimal turf growth and health. Rye and bluegrass lawns in Southeastern Wisconsin typically require 3.5-4.5# of Nitrogen per year per 1,000 sq. ft. to maintain a rich green color. We will apply as much as your lawn needs for optimal health. (May require more than one application.)

Round 4: We address weed presence in early Fall for a less stressful Spring. Weeds not taken care of now are the weeds that pop first in the Spring!

Round 5: This is the most essential fertilization for your turf! This application encourages strong root development during the Fall and greens up your lawn first thing in the Spring!
